Android is the operating system which is being used by over 1 billion smart phones and tablets. All the versions of the Android are named after a sweet or dessert: Cupcake, Donut, Eclair, Froyo, Gingerbread,Honeycomb, Ice Cream Sandwich, and Jelly Bean.
The newest version of Android is named after Kitkat, which is one of the most tempting chocolate. Kitkat is also giving people a chance to win Nexus 7 on this occasion of release of the Android kitkat version. All the android versions till now had something new with them. A uniquely different feature originated from every new version. Well, The kitkat version also has many new and attractive features, which we will be discussing in the coming session.

Let us firstly discuss a few points about the earlier versions of Android.
1.Android 1.5, Cupcake: This is the first version named after a dessert. It came new in the Market in competetion with the IOS and windows operating system. Right from the starting, android was an open operating system.
2.Android 1.6 Donut: In this version, driving directions, i.e maps have been updated, powered by google, searching the web has been improvised.
3. Android 2.0 Eclair: in this version, making your home screen as you like have been updated, Arranging apps and widgets across multiple screens and folders is updated.
4.Android Froyo 2.2: voice typing and voice actions let you control the phone in this version.
5.Android Ginger bread 2.3: New sensors were arranged, so that you can touch, tap,tilt and play. gaming lead to another stream of success for this version.
6.Android 3.0 honeycomb: Optimization for tablets. this release opens up new horizons where ever you are.
7.Android 4.0 Icecream sandwitch: New design is launched with simple and pretty features.
8.Android 4.1 jelly bean: This version made the android smooth and fast. With Google’s help, right information in the right time is present at your service. This version provided with over 1 million apps on Google play, which made it hugely successful.
Now After all these 8 versions, android is all set to launch the 9th version in the series, which is the Kitkat android version.
Android Kitkat 4.4: This new version of android is very much attractive with brand new features in it. The official android owners say that, “kitkat 4.4 is smart, simple, beautiful, immerse and truly yours”. Now this is something we look forward to.
